Work-boot devotees, lend us your ears and perhaps your feet, for Red Wing’s new hiking boot is officially available for purchase.
The Sawmill, available in both military-spec Olive Mohave Leather and classic Briar Oil Slick, is equipped with bona fide hiking credentials. Whilst preserving the requisite design and quality we’ve all grown to love in Red Wing product, the work boot manufacturers’ inaugural venture into the weather/hiker boot market endeavours to keep your feet safe and sound, as you brave gnarly trails and of course, look fantastic all the while.
Goodyear-soled and with a storm welt, the Sawmill comes with a cosy felted-wool footbed, keeping your toes nice and toasty when out in the harsh elements. The Cambrelle lining, too, should not be underestimated. It’s bi-component fibres offer serious comfort and even prevent moisture-staining and build-up of mildew – a boot’s arch nemesis.
Aesthetically speaking, die-hard Red Wing advocates will undoubtedly twig that the Sawmill pushes the design envelope. The inclusion of D-rings and Speed Hooks are a total first for the Heritage collection, affording quick ‘on/off’ capability. Very handy, we think, after a hard day’s trekkin’.
The Sawmill is available online and in store right now, so for the impassioned ramblers amongst us (you know who you are), don’t hesitate to pick up a pair.
